My Vocation and Life Dream - 1436 Words
As humans we naturally crave happiness. Everything single action that occurs in our life is a step that we consciously or subconsciously make in order to achieve this happiness. If one honestly observes every action they have made in their life they can see how all their actions are directed towards happiness. College choices, romance, sex, and many other things are made based on a personââ¬â¢s hunger for happiness. In order to identify the things that will make me the happiest in life I must first reflect upon the question, ââ¬Å"Who am I called to be?â⬠. People have different callings based on their traits and talents, by using these talents they can get closer to achieving their vocation. If one chooses their vocation based on their attraction to the specific activity and on their desire to be happy they will most likely find happiness. I have always had a calling to be a father. Ever since I was eight years old I knew that I wanted to be a father. The reason behind this desire is most likely because I wanted to be a better father than my father was to me. That has always been one of my goals in life. Not only do I want to be a father but I also want to be a civil engineer. I understand that these two desires are very different but I will connect the two separate ideas further on in the paper. My biggest dream is to be the best father I can possibly be. I understand that this is easier said than done but I know I can achieve it.
